We believe that inspiring a love for the outdoors is crucial for advancing its protection. For over 15 years, this principle has guided our work (Angry Whale Media), and we are excited to share our latest endeavour with you.

Off the Beaten Trail is a groundbreaking docuseries that explores the intersection of adventure and a changing climate. Featuring renowned adventurers and environmental champions, the series celebrates their athletic achievements and highlights their significant impact on climate change. 

Origin Stories

Each episode will look at a different adventurer/outdoor enthusiast that has experienced a transformation from being in nature to becoming a positive force for change within their peer group and community. “Off the Beaten Trail” will tell their origin stories and how they have connected with nature and have integrated those connections into their day to day lives, most importantly, how their efforts have inspired change within their communities. 

Why Now

Climate change is not only having an impact on our physical realities and economies, it is contributing to the growing epidemic of eco-anxiety, whereby feelings about climate change are negatively affecting the daily lives and functioning of individuals including our youth.

With “Off the Beaten Trail” we intend to take on this growing and crippling issue by telling real and identifiable stories of how individuals are moving forward and making a difference within their communities.  

Each show will be a celebration of an individual's achievements that have made a difference in their own lives and home communities through mental and environmental health aspects (using positive feedback as a means to inspire action).
